2YS Trading’s series of evening training workshops for the trade have been well-received since their launch in September 2018.

 2YS Trading’s lecturer has over 20 years’ experience reprogramming remote keys for cars.

“We’ve found that in New Zealand there are many tools and scanners that do not suit the cars on New Zealand roads. Our training sessions are designed to make sure service providers have the right tools and knowledge for the job,” he says.

Whether repairing or reprogramming, the task needs to be completed properly to ensure the system works.

Marc says that because the key fobs themselves have memory chips built into them that allow the key to work, specialised programming needs to be undertaken so that the locking mechanism recognizes the code being sent to it by the remote key.

2YS established evening workshops for the trade last month. Held across weekday evenings at the company’s New Lynn premises, the sessions take between one and two hours.

The workshops cost $149 per person and are designed to decipher the process of remote key repair and reprogramming for trade professionals, potentially providing technicians with another attribute to the services they’re able to offer customers.

“The first workshops have been really well received. We look forward to seeing more mechanics attending future workshops during October,” says Marc.
